I’m finally starting to get the best of covid an I’m finally starting to get the best of covid and having enough energy to paint a whole painting in one day. 🤩 This was an interesting experiment that started as a sketch in Procreate, where I planned the composition and the colours. I used an unusual colour palette for me, but that’s what I’ve been doing lately. A lot of colour palette sampling and getting comfortable with colours that I don’t usually use. I also ended up mixing quite a few colours for this one, which I enjoyed tremendously. I had forgotten how much fun colour mixing is. I think that the reason I do so little of it, with my Holbeins, is that I’m so worried of wasting paint and also because Holbein has so many beautiful colours straight out of the tube.
